ABOUT

My name is Arturas Karabanovas. I am a graduate of Vilnius Academy of Arts (Lithuania) where I’ve studied fine arts, and specialized in jewellery & sculpture. I work in a variety of media including bronze, precious metals, oil, and graphics.

I have been surrounded by art since childhood my grandmother used to draw and paint, I attended pottery and painting classes in primary school, later on I became interested in theater.

My childhood’s interests became ‘full-time’ occupation. I am a sculptor, a jeweller, and a graphic artist. I also like to paint occasionally – oils are my preferred media.

I’ve graduated from Vilnius Academy of Arts in Lithuania where I received a BA in Fine Arts. Main fields of study were – Jewellery and Sculpture. Studies of different disciplines at the university offered plenty of opportunities to experiment and to develop my own style.

After graduating from the Academy of Arts in 2008 I’ve moved to Galway. In early 2009 I started crafting jewellery in my Galway studio, and continued working on my bronze foundry. Shortly after I began casting my first bronze sculptures.

Currently I am exhibiting my art work at Kilbaha gallery, Co. Clare and Judy Greene craft shop, Galway City.
